RECYCLING >> MONITOR  RECYCLING

Picture of a computer monitor

Since 1999, the San Diego Futures Foundation has been providing technology and technical services to San Diego nonprofits, schools, and low-income families. We are able to do this through the donation of reusable and recyclable PCs and electronics.

SDFF provides monitor recycling, disposal, and salvage services that are free to San Diego County residents.  Simply pack up your old monitor and drop it off at our recycling center.  We'll take care of the rest.  And because the State of California is providing incentive and funding for the proper disposal of old monitors, SDFF will receive compensation, which will will help us bring technology to San Diego nonprofits, schools, and families.

For more information, visit our Recycling for Individuals page or submit a request to drop off your monitor or other electronics using our Recycling Form.

More Information

Computer monitors, specifically the old CRT kind (the big heavy ones, not the flat panels), contain massive amounts of lead.  When these kinds of monitors are thrown in the trash, or disposed of in the public dumps, they create an environmental hazard.  Recycling old computer monitors is better for the environment and good common sense.
